A long history (203mm towed howitzer) A tow truck

The U.S. Army bought a number of 203mm howitzers British during the First World War, to meet the shortage of long-range artillery. Partially modified and modernized, the piece also participated in the Second World War and the Korean War:
Here we see a 203mm howitzer towed by a vehicle derived from the M24 tank during the Korean War:
The barrel was equipped with a code that can be opened with furrows were planted in the ground, providing a stable base. The maximum range of the weapon was about 20 km.
The tractor was able to sustain the speed of other vehicles on the move, allowing tactical use of the weapon.

After 50s, the howitzer was mounted on a gun carriage and became the self-propelled tracked M110, in service until the 80s in several countries, including Italy.

Model in 1:35 with plastic resin figures. The fine detail requires only a washing in black and ocher right to simulate aging. the base is covered with gravel and grass from the crib.
