Peace: a well forgotten? Moray, 22 October 2010.

Peace: a well forgotten? The desk chair.
E 'was a nice evening: dedicated to "talk peace", to 360 degrees, as they say, not only of war.

The event, organized by the ACLI of Moray and the facebook group " political thinking" , saw a large participation of the public, after the interventions of the three presenters, has resulted in a debate full of passion calendar and a great desire for peace, the daily, lived with family, people at school as at work. The video

which opened the evening, a series of images of the news in recent months has served to open the debate with three witnesses were allowed to touch many of the numerous pieces that make up the mosaic of the "Peace" ( Mario Dancing , secretary of Fim Cisl Varese; Guido Sangiovanni, an aerospace engineer; Don Renato Sacco , the magazine "Mosaic of Peace") and the introduction of Maria Angela Monti, founder of "political thinking".
About three hours
thick of debate (between operations those of the speakers and the audience) that are not easily summarized and synthesized, not to hurt anyone or any of the emotions experienced. I hope indeed that the three speakers and the audience wants to revive and continue on this blog the way of their actions that night.

If I summarize, with a single adjective, the meaning of that night I'd say it was an evening concrete. Why were the concrete testimony of the three presenters, Mario, Don and Renato Guido concrete, but not without wings , indeed enlivened by a narrative of self, of her own life, and dreams of their commitments to peace, which has touched time to stop the complaint and utopia of sound.

For example, as when Mario - during his speech-articolatissimo recalled the participation of workers in the 90 Aermacchi to fight for the conversion of the defense industry.

Or when Don Renato spoke of his August 26, 2010 (so different from ours, marked by the disappearance, in fact, the murder of Sara Scazzi!) Spent in Iraq, to \u200b\u200bvisit with old friends met seven years before, during a previous trip, and especially the bishop of Baghdad, Monsignor Shlemon Warduni, who will speak of the irreparable damage done by war to his people (50% of the families of his community migrated in search of work and peace elsewhere). "War does not do anything well, it destroys everything, families, work, territory. In Baghdad today, there is no liberty, if not kill, there is no democracy, because you can not walk safely down the street, the war has not left us no good! " Wuarduni are the words of Msgr. Guido Sangiovanni

Or when he talked about his childhood dreams, daydreams, and his nose up at the entranced watching fighters that crossed the sky with their long tail tricolor. And then the dreams of young engineering student ... and the disenchantment of the voluntary civil service. Bello his invitation to "live with your head beyond the clouds ... and down to earth ", that is, between utopia and reality ... It seemed to me good advice, because it allows us to live and work in everyday life, enlightened by faith and a little fascinated by dreams So you live better, live a taste of peace ... and most people live like that, you live all better.

Friday night we left with a certainty, which we hope will take us a long time in life: be sure you understand that our commitment to peace does not end in an evening, because peace is built day by day, into the reality of our daily lives: at work, in the territory, associations in the life of the party, in the family, in the Church.

To begin to maintain this commitment we mark the event organized by

My Goldfish Has A White Bump On Its Head

PEACE GOOD DIMENICATO?

Once again the email Don Renato, who pointed me to reflect on the serious incident last night in Genoa I arrived on time. It 's a reflection written in two hands, two places at the antipodes Italy crossed by tremors of this misunderstanding that may become incompatible if they do not prevail above all feelings of solidarity, respect, peace.
painful and passionate reflection of two pastors, Rev. Salvatore Leopizzi, pastor at Gallipoli (Lecce) and Don Renato Sacco, pastor Cesar, (Verbania), both "militants" by the example of Don Pax Christi Tonino Bello, leads us to a past with the memory that is wrong to look back in time and space, as the events of Genoa warn, the war in the Balkans, created by the fragmentation of the former Yugoslavia and the massacre of Kosovo.
By Don Renato Moray we will meet in October 22 to discuss your next PACE and hope to be many,
while we approach this issue with the help of reflection written for "Mosaic peace "( http://www.mosaicodipace.it/ ) by Don Renato and Don Salvatore.

The game should not miss

October 13, 2010 - Don Salvatore Leopizzi and Don Renato Sacco (priests)

is night when we are on the phone, to share disappointments and concerns of a day, which, perhaps more than others, was full of great violence. We live at opposite ends (Puglia and Piedmont) of our Italy, still united. For now.
They made us reflect and remember so many things the violent ultranationalist Serbian stadium in Genoa, burning flags and claim to Kosovo. But when Kosovo suffered violence and chose non-violence with Rugova, who was interested? Who spoke of Kosovo? Those who condemned the violence? Pax Christi, and perhaps only a few others.
The international community has decided, then, to support the small minority of the KLA, to confirm their choice armed and decided to intervene with the war. And who won in the Balkans? The violence! Even the peace treaties have established what had been achieved through violence. We are scared to remember these things and thinking today, the violence of the stages as a basin from which to draw for political and military abuses. If we add the rampant racism, even though the choruses are punished, it is to shudder.
Faced with the violence of these days someone invoked the death penalty. Not only in Iran but also in Italy.
There is violence in families, in the subways and streets, where he shot and killed for trivial reasons. In institutions where a mayor is killed, the anti-mafia magistrates and journalists threatened, but all in all in a climate of indifference, not only the recovery by the cameras of the metro, but also what we might focus on the consciousness of everyone. It is indifference, silence, even if we do not stop to think that the real problem to solve is to condemn, without hesitation, all violence.
We should all be worried about today, stop, confront: educators, parents, politicians, priests, journalists ... All. Do not feel this anxiety? We will always try to limit and to name the specific violence ... because maybe another is more tolerated, justified.
So we condemn the brutality of the Taliban, but not the bombs and planes.
It condemns cruelty, but he blesses the war. But then the end justifies the means?
It grows in some quarters the thirst for bombs, weapons which will surely damage the worst of those "violent cretins" Stadium in Genoa. Or consider only their violence? And when the war comes as the value to be taught in school?

It is not over. Everyone could make a long list of violence and bullying that we see every day.

Yesterday was October 12, the anniversary of a historic discovery. But it is rather a conquest of a great cruelty on innocent and defenseless people?
For our friend who is learning to drive these days, the instructor said it must have a driving ... aggressive! It is too sweet.
But really there is no room for sweetness in our society? For tenderness, patience, meekness ... ?
Yes, we are very worried. Why the violence in all its forms, you lose the game, not at the table ... but that's life. And perhaps the believers, the whole Church, should draw a lot more this value, non-negotiable, non-violence.

the common good is at stake, the lives of all.

course, there are many signs of hope even if you do not make much noise, for example the statement of the national coordinator of Pax Christi, d. Nandino Capovilla, published today on the website of Pax Christi, to the page http://www.peacelink.it/paxchristi/a/32529.html
with the title "useless massacre":
"Only peace means peace, that is active nonviolence, keeps open the hope" .
